CMT welding: “Cold Metal Transfer”
CMT welding requires a lower heat input compared to techniques such as MIG-MAG, yet without any negative impact on the durability.
CMT is also a welding process which is spatter free. This is not the case when using traditional techniques such as MIG-MAG. Furthermore, CMT offers a solution for welding thin materials (from 0.3 mm) where low heat input is a must, and it can be used when joining dissimilar materials such as steel and aluminium.
During the welding process, the arc/the electrode is clean, with no spatter flying around, unlike other processes such as MIG-MAG.
All our equipment allows us to finish one product incorporating different welding techniques: MIG-MAG, pulsed welding, CMT. Quite often projects may require that you adapt different techniques before pieces are joined. This will ensure the best result.
We have several Motoman robotic welders with CMT technology.
